Meanwhile, The Weeknd has also shared another new collaboration this week, this time teaming up with FKA Twigs on “Tears In The Club”. I wanted her adoring fans to get a special gift before the holidays and felt it was the perfect time to release a never-before-heard offering.”Įarlier this year, Aaliyah’s back catalog was released on streaming services for the first time as part of a new partnership with the label EMPIRE. In a press release, Barry Hankerson, founder of Blackground Records, said: “I’m so excited to share this new song by Aaliyah and the very talented The Weeknd. My Best Friend - Weezer Play Video Download. Weezer - My best friend Play Video Download. Certain parts didnt work out how I wanted them to, like the Sky. Going for a more comedic approach on this one. The video also features a cameo by the band's webmaster/band photographer/archivist Karl Koch, as well the crowd scenes featured Weezer fans. Second music video I had to do for my class. A new cover for Make Believe was created for the video of Perfect Situation, replacing Cuomo with Cuthbert, as well as showing the fictional name "Weeze".The Weeknd responds with his thoughts on the chorus, singing: “ You’re so cold, I can see your breath, I swear/They told me not to fall in love/Wondering where it all went wrong/You were my poison all along.” Perfect Situation features Elisha Cuthbert as the lead singer of Weeze, a fictional predecessor to Weezer, who is eventually replaced by actual frontman Rivers Cuomo. The video also features a cameo by the band's webmaster/band photographer/archivist and close friend for many years Karl Koch and like the "Beverly Hills" video, the band asked actual Weezer fans to answer a casting call to be in the video's crowd scenes.
The video, directed by Marc Webb, premiered on November 11, 2005, and features actress Elisha Cuthbert as the lead singer of Weeze, a fictional predecessor to Weezer, who is eventually replaced by actual frontman Rivers Cuomo. She also had a small role in Paris Hilton's music video for the song 'Nothing in This World'.
The alternate version was put on later pressings of the album with the full intro, reworked chorus and outro. Cuthbert appeared in the music video for Weezer's 'Perfect Situation' in early 2006, playing the group's fictional original singer who threw a tantrum that led to Rivers Cuomo, the roadie, becoming the band's frontman. In fact, Id have to say the album as a whole is perfect. This one song demonstrates perfectly Rivers studying of other like-minded groups such as Green Day, Oasis and Nirvana, in the quest to write the perfect song. The band liked this version better than the original, and in the age of digital music, were able to replace the song on downloads of the album as well as new pressings of the CD. 'Perfect Situation,' the best song of the album, is arguably the best song Weezer have written since the 'Pinkerton' era.
Cuomo stated in an interview during the band's 2005 performance at the AOL Sessions as saying "Well, if these ten thousand people think it should go this way, maybe we should go back and re-record it." Weezer made some changes to this song when it was released as a single, adding the 'Perfect Situation' background vocals near the end of the song. When touring in summer 2005, when the band prompted the crowd to sing along, they oddly enough sang it in the other way Cuomo had written it (different from the record version). Rivers Cuomo has been their lead singer (and the band has been called Weezer) since their formation in 1992). (It should be noted that this is fictional, no such changes were made to the name or band members. The reworked chorus that appears in the radio edit was one of two ways Cuomo originally wrote the song. The video does in fact tell the story of how this addition came about. The radio edit is eight seconds shorter than the album version. The radio edit of this song features a shortened intro, a synth track on the first and second chorus (the album version only has it on the second chorus), a reworked "oh-oh" chorus and the added backup vocals of "perfect situation" over the outro.
